Zahra Umansky is a formidable presence in Central Florida’s legal community, widely recognized for her courtroom strength, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to justice.
She began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit, representing clients across Brevard and Seminole Counties. During that time, she tried more than 100 criminal cases, ranging from DUI and drug trafficking to assault and theft. Zahra consistently safeguarded her clients’ constitutional rights and earned numerous not-guilty verdicts through her skilled advocacy and deep understanding of the law.
Her sharp legal insight and professionalism led to her appointment as City Prosecutor for Orlando by former Mayor Glenda Hood. In this role, Zahra handled a wide array of criminal cases and advised law enforcement on crucial constitutional matters, including search and seizure, Miranda rights, and pre-arrest procedures. She also served before the City’s Nuisance Abatement Board, expanding her impact on Orlando’s legal and civic landscape.
With experience on both sides of the courtroom, Zahra brings a rare dual perspective to her practice.
