Kelly Hedum is an attorney and co-founder of Filler & Hedum Family Law Firm, a boutique practice in Oviedo dedicated to a client, child, and family-centered approach. Her path to law was anything but traditional, shaped by resilience, service, and a lifelong commitment to helping others through life’s most challenging moments and transitions with strength and compassion.
Born and raised in the Northeastern United States, Kelly initially pursued pre-law studies before shifting her focus to raising four children as a single mother. She later built a career in public service, first as a Critical Care Paramedic and then as a Law Enforcement Officer, ultimately retiring as a Detective Sergeant with the City of Oviedo. Determined to fulfill her original goal, she earned her Juris Doctor from Barry Law School in 2014, bringing her full circle into a profession rooted in advocacy, compassion, and service to others in need.
Kelly brings a unique, real-world understanding to her practice, supported by her certifications as a Florida Supreme Court Family Law Mediator, Guardian Ad Litem, and Parenting Coordinator. Her personal motto, “Just Show Up,” reflects her philosophy of being fully present, prepared, and committed to making a meaningful difference in her clients’ lives. She defines success by impact—knowing that her work can change the trajectory of a family’s future for the better.
A longtime Central Florida resident, Kelly values the region’s diversity, culture, and sense of community. Outside the office, she enjoys travel, art, and time at the beach. She is a proud mother of four, grandmother of seven, and passionate advocate for families, including those connected to the autism community, while mentoring future legal professionals.
