Pediatrician
Dr. Sunita Raj is a dedicated pediatrician whose passion for medicine was born from a deeply personal experience. Raised in Michigan and Colorado, she faced a life-altering health challenge at just four years old when a serious eye condition threatened her vision. After months of hospitalization and countless consultations, it was her determined pediatrician who uncovered the cause through extensive research and helped save her eyesight. Witnessing the profound impact one physician could have on a patient’s life inspired Dr. Raj to pursue a career in medicine and dedicate herself to helping others.
She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver, where she studied biology, chemistry, and mathematics, before continuing directly to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Raj later completed her pediatric residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando, where she established the foundation for a career focused on compassionate, evidence-based care. Orlando ultimately became home, allowing her to build both her family life and professional career while serving the community she loves.
As an outpatient pediatrician, Dr. Raj believes in supporting children and their families through a holistic approach that combines science-backed medicine with meaningful communication and trust. She places a strong emphasis on preventive care, healthy lifestyles, and understanding each family’s cultural background and values. For Dr. Raj, success is found in the everyday moments—helping families make informed decisions, promoting wellness, and creating lasting relationships that support lifelong health.
Beyond her practice, Dr. Raj has spent more than two decades mentoring future physicians through her work with Florida State University medical students and Arnold Palmer Hospital residents. She also enjoys teaching mindfulness and wellness principles, with future goals of expanding education in nutrition and meditation. Outside of work, she recharges through yoga, meditation, Pilates, nature walks, and time spent embracing the balance and resilience she encourages in others.
