Dr. Ronald H. Rempfer Jr., MD, is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist whose career reflects a lifelong commitment to helping young people and families thrive. Born in New York and raised primarily throughout Florida, his path to medicine began in ninth grade after spending a day shadowing his pediatrician. The experience left a lasting impression and inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to caring for children and improving lives through medicine.
After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida, Dr. Rempfer completed medical school at the Morsani College of Medicine before pursuing a pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. He practiced as a pediatrician for six years before recognizing a critical need for child and adolescent mental health services. Determined to make a greater impact, he returned to training, completing a second residency in adult psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of South Florida, where he served as Chief Resident. Today, he is board-certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry and is a Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rempfer has remained passionate about early intervention and the transformative role mental healthcare can play in a young person’s future. He believes success is measured not only by symptom improvement but by helping patients develop resilience, confidence, and hope. Guided by the philosophy that people may forget what you said or did but never how you made them feel, he creates a safe, compassionate environment where every patient feels heard, valued, and respected.
Outside of practice, Dr. Rempfer enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, theater, learning foreign languages, and spending time with family, friends, and his beloved Silky Terrier. A lifelong learner and adventurer, he has even gone skydiving and continues to embrace new experiences that broaden his perspective and enrich both his personal and professional life.
