Innovations: I have found a niche in creating oncologic pathology reports that are tailored to the specifications of high volume surgical practices, but are also compliant with our laboratory regulatory agencies.
About us: CFPA provides pathology coverage for all of the Orlando area AdventHealth campuses. In particular, I am the Medical Laboratory Director for AdventHealth Celebration.
Education: My undergraduate studies in biology were at the University of Virginia from 1987-1991. I attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center from 1991-1995. My pathology residency in anatomic and clinical pathology was done at Orlando Health from 1995-2000, with an additional year of cytopathology fellowship at the University of Florida / SHANDS Jacksonville campus from 2000-2001.
Certifications: I am board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and cytopathology.
Experience: Since 2008, I have personally signed out over 4,000 prostatectomy cases. I also have extensive experience in breast, head and neck, and thoracic pathology.
Awards/Honors: AdventHealth System Physician Value (ICBEST) Award for Teamwork, awarded December 2013.
Professional Membership / Affiliations: College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Florida Society of Pathologists (FSP), Florida Medical Association (FMA), American Medical Association (AMA), and the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC).
Greatest professional achievements: Attaining full partner status in my group, and cultivating close relationships with the outstanding doctors at AdventHealth Celebration during my 18 years as Medical Laboratory Director.
Philosophy: To provide the best “customer service” experience possible for my clinicians, facilitated by personal real-time communication and customization / streamlining of pathology reports.
