Dr. Jeffrey Deren is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with added qualification in the orthopaedic surgery of the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Deren has been practicing at Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic for over 22 years and currently serves on their Executive Committee.
EDUCATION:
Dr. Deren graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he also received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Perelman School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania and earned his fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship in Boston, MA.

Dr. Deren has been recognized as one of Orlando’s Top Hand Doctors & is nationally published for his medical research studies.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS/ AFFILIATIONS:
Hand Specialist & Team Physician for the Orlando Magic, Rollins College, Orlando Ballet & University of Central Florida Athletics. Associate Professor for UCF College of Medicine and active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He currently serves as Medical Director at Physicians’ Surgical Care Center in Winter Park.
GREATEST PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT:
I have the most amazing family and friends a person can ask for. I wake up every day blessed to have another day. I discovered that it is fascinating and encouraging to see improvement from week to week, no matter how small they are, to make a difference in people’s lives, to adjust my focus from one of self to what can I do today to make somebody else’s life better. I performed thousands of surgical operations for my patients and any time I run into them I love seeing the end results!
GREATEST PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT:
At the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic, we’re surrounded by amazing stories. Some are incredible. Some are touching and heartfelt. All of them are nice to hear. We recognize that we can talk on and on about the distinctions we’ve been awarded, the services we offer, and the experience of the physicians working in our halls. But only by hearing the stories of those just like you, folks who arrived at our doors anxious or scared and went home healed, can you truly begin to understand who we are, and what we strive for. Everyday is a great day because we have the opportunity to give someone a second chance at living.

Our care and concern for our patients go far beyond just their orthopaedic health; at all times, we see our patients as valued members of our extended family. Our patients are greeted by name at our practice, and we strive to build trusting and lasting relationships so that we can treat each patient individually at a pace that he or she is comfortable with. We make it our goal to understand our patients’ concerns, experiences, health, and struggle so that we are able to meet and exceed their expectations.
ABOVE AND BEYOND:
Both learning and giving back have been lifelong endeavors for Dr. Deren. Over the past 15 years he has been donating his time as a team physician & Associate Professor for the University of Central Florida.
