President & CEO
Traci Deen is President and CEO of Conservation Florida, leading efforts to protect the landscapes that define the state for future generations. A sixth-generation Floridian raised in Miami, she developed an early connection to nature through her grandfather, whose passion for reptiles and amphibians sparked her lifelong commitment to environmental conservation. That early influence shaped both her personal values and professional path, grounding her work in purpose and long-term impact for Florida’s communities.
Traci came to Orlando for law school but quickly made it home. Over the past 17 years, she has built her life and career here, raising her daughter while establishing both Conservation Florida’s headquarters and her legal practice. Central Florida’s rapid growth has continually challenged her to think expansively about how people, place, and progress can coexist in thoughtful, meaningful, and sustainable ways across diverse and evolving communities.
Her career has centered on the intersection of law, policy, and environmental impact. Through her work in land use and conservation law, she has led complex initiatives that protect Florida’s natural resources and agricultural landscapes. She defines success by impact and longevity, bringing people together around a shared vision and creating meaningful, lasting change through collaboration, leadership, and purpose-driven work that extends beyond any single project.
Outside of her professional life, Traci finds balance through time outdoors, especially at the barn or in the saddle as an avid equestrian. She enjoys travel, reading, and time with family and friends, along with exploring and enjoying local neighborhoods like Mills50. Deeply committed to her community, she mentors emerging professionals, supports women in law, and serves through organizations advancing conservation, advocacy, and community-focused initiatives across Central Florida.
