Dr. Kumar grew up in India in a family where helping while you learn was emphasized with a father who was nationally acclaimed in helping build organizations and systems.  This fascination for higher learning continued his journey to the United States.  Joining the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York for his Residency, he went on to complete his Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, at programs that offered opportunities to train with highly acclaimed leaders in their fields.  Dr. Kumar joined Central Florida Cardiology Group (CFCG) immediately thereafter in 1998 where he continues to focus on providing patients with the highest level of cardiac care.

Dr. Kumar practices with his deep experience in Clinical Cardiology, Prevention, Imaging (ECHO and its modalities, Nuclear, PET), Invasive Cardiology, Heart Failure and Vascular Disease.  He and his colleagues at CFCG provide comprehensive cardiovascular care including Electrophysiology, Pacemakers, Defibrillators, Ablations, Coronary, Vascular, Structural Heart Disease, Venous Insufficiency interventions.  He with his practice has been involved comprehensively in important clinical research trials over the years.

Dr. Kumar is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He has been nominated to committees at the State and National levels for the American College of Cardiology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.  He has served as the Director of Cardiology and the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for several years at the Advent Health System.  He continues to be recognized as a Top Doctor for Central Florida.  He is driven by the privilege to take care of his patients and the opportunity to make a difference.  He emphasizes continuous self-improvement while living at the crossroads of Medicine, Neuroscience, Economics, and Leadership looking for tools to enable others and serve his patients in the changing landscape of healthcare.

Outside of his practice he spends his time reading, mentoring, supporting conservation and philanthropy.  With his wife and two children he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, traveling and many other opportunities that life has to offer.
