OBGYN / Medical Director & Founder of The Women’s Center & Gearity Wellness
For more than three decades, Dr. Douglas Gearity has dedicated his life to caring for women and strengthening the Central Florida community he proudly calls home. Born and raised in New York City in a close-knit Irish Catholic family, he learned early the values of compassion, hard work, and service to others. Those principles became the foundation of a career devoted to helping women navigate every stage of life with confidence, dignity, and exceptional care. Drawn to Obstetrics and Gynecology because it uniquely combines the roles of physician and surgeon, Dr. Gearity found his calling in a specialty that allows him to build lifelong relationships while making a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.
His journey began at Creighton University, where he earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees before completing his internship at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut and his residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando. Today, as the founder and Medical Director of The Women’s Center of Orlando, he is known for combining compassionate, personalized care with the latest advancements in women’s health. From minimally invasive surgery and menopause management to preventive care and wellness treatments, his mission remains simple: provide women with the most effective, evidence-based options available while maintaining the trust and personal connection that define great medicine.
Outside the office, family is at the center of Dr. Gearity’s life. He and his wife, Chris, have raised four accomplished children, all former Division I athletes, and cherish time spent together around the dinner table, on the golf course, or cheering from the sidelines. Their home in St. Cloud reflects the values they’ve passed on to their children—hard work, responsibility, and gratitude.
Equally passionate about giving back, Dr. Gearity has supported numerous healthcare, education, and children’s charities throughout Central Florida. Whether mentoring future physicians, creating opportunities for individuals with special needs, or caring for generations of families, he measures success by one simple standard: leaving people and the community better than he found them.
