Wellness Dentist and Owner, Smiles by Hazen
Dr. Ryanne Hazen’s connection to dentistry began early, working alongside her father in his dental practice. What started as an introduction to patient care eventually became a career of her own and a passion for continually rethinking what modern dentistry can be.
Today, Dr. Hazen is the owner of Smiles by Hazen in Mount Dora and has spent 20 years caring for patients. Her approach extends beyond simply treating teeth. She believes oral health is deeply connected to overall health and that dentistry should focus not only on fixing problems, but also on understanding why they happen and preventing them whenever possible. Her goal is to help patients become active participants in their health through education, prevention, and personalized care.
That philosophy has led her to embrace wellness-focused, minimally invasive dentistry and technology that helps patients better understand their health. A longtime Invisalign provider with advanced orthodontic training, Dr. Hazen also serves as a Key Opinion Leader for Curodont/vVardis, educating others about non-invasive approaches to early tooth decay. A lifelong learner, she is passionate about bringing new ideas back to her patients, team, and profession while continuing to challenge the traditional idea of what a dental visit can be.
Her leadership extends beyond her practice. As a Florida Regional Leader for Mommy Dentists in Business, Dr. Hazen helps create connection and community among women navigating dentistry, leadership, business ownership, and motherhood.
Outside the office, she is a wife and mom of three. Weekends often mean baseball fields, football games, and cheer competitions, while travel and time with close friends keep her grounded and connected.
For Dr. Hazen, success isn’t about choosing between ambition and family. It’s about continuing to learn, lead, and evolve while building a meaningful career and a life with room for both.
