Board Certified Family Medicine
Philip T. Hardy, MD MT (ASCP) draws on a wide range of experience and education in his delivery of medical care. He graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University with a strong background in Biochemistry, Hematology and Microbiology in 1987. He pursued a doctorate degree in medicine from Loma Linda University under a full scholarship from the United States Air Force in 1994. He was accepted into the categorical residency for Internal Medicine and completed his internship at all of the Loma Linda University Medical Center affiliated hospitals. Choosing to fulfill his Air Force commitment, he went active duty and served as Captain in Guam and Panama City, Florida. He received three honorary medals during his active duty and furthered his training in Family Medicine at Florida Hospital. He obtained his Specialty in Family Medicine in 2000 and is board certified until 2024. He remains on staff and has privileges at AdventHealth.
Dr. Hardy established Legacy Family Medicine in 2010, with the desire to provide personal and compassionate care to all patients. Utilizing his background, with a strong emphasis on patient-collaboration and education; positive outcomes are achieved through a therapeutic alliance with each patient. This ensures that the patient understands the diagnosis and treatment plan for improved outcomes. His comprehensive staff includes a nurse practitioner, two physician assistants and a Doctor of Acupuncture. Legacy Family Medicine welcomes Spanish speaking patients. Our bilingual staff is eager to assist with health concerns and to answer any of your medical questions.
Hardy Health was opened in 2013 to offer proven alternative therapies to his patients. This includes acupuncture, trigger point injections with an Arnica based product, and knee injections with hyaluronic acid. Dr. Hardy is also certified with the State of Florida to certify Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis to patients.
Family Medicine places an emphasis on family, and this is important to Dr. Hardy. He is married with two children who are active in volley ball, swimming and weight training. He enjoys watching TV series that are in Spanish with his wife as a way to further his Spanish abilities. Leisure time is spent with their three dogs and whenever possible, they enjoy traveling as a family.
Music has been important to Dr. Hardy since he was a teenager. He has led a jazz band on electric bass and has been part of the worship team at church. More recently, he started to study tenor saxophone and enjoys playing traditional Jazz, Bossa Nova and Pop.
