In 2013 Nashville-based singer-songwriter Patrick Davis turned an offer to perform as a solo artist at The Firefly Sunset Resort in Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas into an opportunity. He saw the potential to turn a small solo gig into a songwriting festival and then brought the idea to life. The result of Davis’ decision was The 1st Annual Patrick Davis Songwriters in Paradise: Hope Town, and since the inaugural event, Davis has now overseen the creation of a number of highly successful Songwriters in Paradise Festivals. Each takes place at world-class resorts and hotels in beautifully unique locations throughout the Bahamas, Mexico and the United States.
While each Songwriters in Paradise Festival is carefully crafted to adapt to each location, what never changes is night after night of the “In the Round” experience. This is an exclusive look into the circle of songwriters on stage swapping stories, anecdotes, and songs. This experience involves attendees in an intimate, yet lively musical performance that is rarely offered outside of the concert halls and listening rooms of Nashville, TN. Each and every SIP festival includes some of the world’s most successful and acclaimed singer-songwriters, including artist like Kristian Bush (of Sugarland), James Otto, Mark Bryan (of Hootie & the Blowfish), Lauren Jenkins, Javier Colon and hit songwriters who have written songs for Jimmy Buffett, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Tim McGraw and many more.
The 7th Annual SIP HOPE TOWN will take place February 2019 and will once again have a phenomenal group of artists, songwriters and performers coming down for all who are lucky enough to make the trip to paradise…
The tiny Bahamian island of Hope Town is one of those places you have to “know about to know about” and that is exactly what makes this seven by one mile stretch of paradise with the mighty Atlantic on one side and the tranquil Sea of Abaco on the other so extremely special. The white sand beaches sit like a postcard cover, the downtown “golf cart only” streets look like something from a dream and the candy-striped lighthouse shines with mirrored light from a bygone era of pirates, bounty and fearless freedom… Hope Town is truly a one of a kind island and experience, and that is why “Songwriters In Paradise” is so honored to be even a small part of its yearly calendar.
The Annual SIP HOPE TOWN donates a portion of festival proceeds to the HOPE TOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL. They also make a donations to the very important FRIENDS OF THE ENVIRONMENT ABACO and HOPE TOWN FIRE AND RESCUE! Since 2013 SIP HOPE TOWN has donated almost $50k to local organizations thanks to the generous contributions of our attendees, sponsors and songwriters!
