Avianca connects Orlando with Latin America

For more than 15 years, Avianca has connected Orlando with Latin America. Today, that relationship is extending beyond the airport and onto the soccer field through the airline’s partnerships with Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride.

As the official international airline partner of Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer (MLS) and Orlando Pride of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Avianca is using the shared language of soccer to strengthen its connection with Central Florida and the communities it serves. The partnership brings together travel, culture and sport while creating new opportunities for the airline to engage with fans throughout the Orlando market.

“Soccer has an extraordinary ability to bring people and communities together, and that is also at the heart of what we do every day at Avianca,” said Rolando Damas, sales director for North America at Avianca. “Our partnerships with Orlando City SC and Orlando Pride reflect our commitment to supporting sports in the markets and communities where we operate. Orlando is an important market for Avianca, and through these partnerships, we are bringing together soccer, travel and connectivity to strengthen the ties between Florida and Latin America while bringing fans closer to the teams, cultures and experiences they are passionate about.”

A Natural Connection

The connection is a natural one. Across Orlando City and Orlando Pride, 19 Latin American-born players represent countries including Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela and Chile, many of the same communities connected by Avianca’s network throughout the region. The partnership has also given Avianca a presence throughout the teams’ seasons at Inter&Co Stadium. In September, the airline brought “Fly Beyond the Game” directly to supporters through an entitlement match experience designed to connect with Orlando’s soccer community beyond traditional sponsorship visibility.

Fifteen Years in Orlando

That growing community presence comes during an important year for Avianca in Orlando. The airline marked its 15th anniversary at Orlando International Airport. From 2022 through 2025, Avianca transported more than 956,000 passengers and operated more than 6,200 flights to and from Orlando.

Demand has continued to grow. During the first half of 2026, Avianca transported more than 180,400 passengers to and from Orlando, a 26.4% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The airline currently operates around 30 weekly flights connecting Orlando with Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia, and San Salvador, El Salvador. Those routes give Central Florida travelers direct access to key Latin American destinations while also opening connections across Avianca’s broader network in South America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.
