Dr. Michael Potts is a board-certified cardiologist and Fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians. With more than 30 years of experience, he has devoted his career to advancing cardiovascular care with exceptional expertise and compassion.
An accomplished invasive cardiologist, Dr. Potts spent over two decades serving patients in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, before continuing his practice in Winter Park, Florida, where he has provided comprehensive, patient-centered care for the past ten years. His approach spans diagnosis, intervention, prevention, and long-term management, reflecting a deep commitment to each patient’s lifelong heart health.
Dr. Potts’ connection to Winter Park began years earlier through referrals of Virgin Islands patients to AdventHealth Orlando. Today, he is dedicated to strengthening those ties and reestablishing direct, high-quality cardiovascular care for patients from the Virgin Islands closer to home.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Potts completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency, critical care fellowship, and cardiology fellowship at Howard University Hospital, building a strong foundation for his distinguished career.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Potts values life with his wife, Lory, and their three grown children—Taylor, Arron, and Alexander—all of whom reside in Winter Park. For Dr. Potts, caring for the heart is more than a profession—it is a lifelong calling grounded in skill, dedication, and compassion.
