Dr. David Janarious is a board-certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician who founded BetterLife in 2023. BetterLife is a concierge medical practice with an emphasis on longevity and wellness. Dr. Janarious emphasizes the importance of the doctor-patient relationship in his practice. Dr. Janarious is known for spending at least 90 minutes with every new patient to develop a detailed understanding of their individual health goals and challenges.
In particular, Dr. Janarious has a passion for optimizing his patients’ metabolic, physical, and mental health to maximize not only their longevity but also their quality of life. Dr. Janarious screens his patients for underlying disease and metabolic disturbances using cutting-edge diagnostic tests that are years ahead of current medical guidelines. With this information, he then develops a personalized optimization plan that includes a combination of lifestyle interventions, conventional medicine, supplements, and alternative therapies.
Dr. Janarious and BetterLife offer a broad range of services, including weight management, hormone optimization, mental health services, and longevity-based medicine. He treats families of all ages, accepting insurance and cash-pay patients.
Dr. Janarious completed his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University and received his medical degree in 2012 from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Family Medicine Residency program in 2015 and subsequently became certified in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2020.
Dr. Janarious is blessed to be the father of two young boys, the caretaker of four fantastic felines, and the husband of his incredible wife (Dr. Afra Janarious, a board-certified neurologist). When he’s not with patients, he can be found enjoying his passion for cycling on nearby trails, motorcycling on scenic roads, or playing music with his family (he plays guitar, bass, and drums).
