Summer is in full bloom in Central Florida! Before we say so long to spring, however, let’s take a look back at the fun we shared in April. Here are all the highlights, just in case you missed it!


The inaugural Fashion for Wishes Spring Fashion Show took place on March 25th high above the Amway Arena at One80 Skytop Lounge. Local models and celebrities walked the runway in Spring Looks from Central Florida’s most elegant boutiques. Proceeds for this event benefitted Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida. Drink specials and featured cocktails kept the party running all night long!

Every spring, the award-winning Downtown Brew takes over Church Street with craft beer, live music, and fun! The 5th annual event—hosted by Church Street District and COX Media—took place on April 1st and featured unlimited samples of over 40 different types of craft beer. Attendees drank up and voted on which brewery took home the prestigious People’s Choice trophy. Just some of the participating breweries included The Bear and Peacock, Black Cauldron Brewing, and Orlando Brewing.

WrestleMania is the annual professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE. On April 2nd, WrestleMania 33 brought the biggest names in the wrestling industry to Camping World Stadium in Orlando for an unforgettable performance. Attendees were on the edge of their seats as they watched iconic characters battle it out for bragging rights, the belt, and title of the world heavyweight champion.

Orlando Fashion Week was founded in August of 2011 with the purpose of having a greater impact in the community by giving back to charitable causes. From April 7th-8th, Orlando Fashion Week fulfilled their purpose all while delivering high quality shows that promoted local fashion designers in swimwear, sportswear, accessories, and couture. This year’s event took place at City Arts Factory in Downtown Orlando.

Star Wars Celebration was the ultimate fan experience focused on a galaxy far, far away! Hardcore and casual fans from around the world celebrated their passion for all things Star Wars—all on the cusp of new Star Wars movies and television shows! The beloved convention took place April 13th-16th at the Orange County Convention Center.

From April 20th-23rd, more than 150 bands rocked out over 15 locations throughout Downtown Orlando on indoor and outdoor stages at the 17th Annual Florida Music Festival. Each night, venues such as Wall St Plaza, Church Street Station, Cheyenne Saloon, and the Dr. Phillips Center showcased unsigned artists from all genres of music to hundreds of industry reps from Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Spooky Empire hosted one of the most coveted and recognizable thriller conventions in the nation from April 21st-23rd. The 3-day annual weekend returned to the Wyndham Orlando Resort featuring an array of activities including celebrity autographs with meet & greets, Q&As led by special guests, and a tattoo festival with more than 25 artists.

Presented by Enzian Theatre, the Florida Film Festival boasts the best in cutting-edge current cinema, indulgent experiences in food and wine, a mix of industry parties and special events, and a star-packed attendee list. From April 21st-30th, the 2017 festival welcomed more than 25,000 guests and played host to more than 100 visiting directors, producers, and award-winning talent.

The community of Windermere joined Orlando Style Magazine for a fun-filled, pet friendly time at the Windermere Pet Fest on April 29th! Attendees enjoyed a great afternoon under the shady oaks at the Town Hall in Downtown Windermere. The event featured food trucks, live music, a doggy fun zone, police k-9 demonstrations, pet product vendors, a Q&A with vets and more!
