Dr. Lourdes Benes is a nationally respected neurologist and the Medical Director of Neurology One, one of the country’s most comprehensive and rapidly expanding neurological care practices. With more than two decades of experience, she is known for seamlessly blending academic rigor with an exceptionally personalized, relationship-driven approach to care.
Fellowship-trained in Cognitive & Memory Disorders and Movement Disorders, Dr. Benes specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions including Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy Body Dementia, and Mild Cognitive Impairment. Patients from across Florida and beyond seek her expertise not only for treatment, but for forward-thinking strategies designed to preserve cognition, independence, and long-term brain vitality.
As Medical Director, Dr. Benes leads a highly sophisticated, multidisciplinary team that provides advanced diagnostics, infusion therapies, and integrated care coordination. Her leadership has helped establish a refined, concierge-level care model that aligns with the expectations of today’s most discerning patients while remaining firmly rooted in evidence-based medicine.
Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Benes serves on the faculty of the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, where she mentors future physicians and contributes to research advancing the science of neurodegenerative disease and brain longevity. She is also a nationally recognized advocate for brain health, working closely with organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association to promote early detection, education, and caregiver support.
Her leadership has been recognized with honors including Orlando Style Magazine’s Elite Doctors of the Year and her designation as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).
