Margaritaville Orlando Reinvents Itself with a Refreshed Menu
As Jimmy Buffett famously sings, those who come to Margaritaville are always “wastin’ away.” Although Buffett’s song is the namesake of Margaritaville Orlando at Universal CityWalk, the restaurant’s menu is anything but “wastin’ away.” Recently, Margaritaville Orlando has debuted its refreshed menu, bringing new life to its Florida-themed cuisine.
The new menu features island-inspired appetizers that transform your dining experience into a tropical vacation. The Grilled Shrimp Skewers satisfy your cravings for sweet and spicy with a Jamaican jerk glaze that is balanced by a sweet hint of sugared coconut and pineapple. The “Drunken” Shrimp Skillet, another exotic dish for shrimp lovers, is a skillet full of Caribbean tastes and treasures, as the shrimp is sautéed with tequila key lime butter, roasted garlic, onions, and peppers. One of the outstanding choices on the list of delicious new appetizers is the Beach Taco sampling. These tacos take you south of the border with the bold tastes of Carne Asada Steak and Braised Pork Carnitas. The steak taco is thoughtfully crafted, as the simple additions of pico de gallo, cheese, and cilantro allow the rich flavors of the carne asada to stand out. If you desire a spicier kick, the carnitas taco is the perfect choice to wake up your taste buds with its zesty salsa verde, while a generous portion of queso fresco cools down the heat.
This exciting appetizer menu also offers dishes inspired by Margaritaville’s signature fusion of American and Caribbean flair, such as the White Cheddar Cheese Curds, a fresh take on the American classic, served with marinara sauce and Margaritaville’s own LandShark Lager BBQ sauce. The Asiago Crab Dip combines lump crabmeat with the Italian-American flavors of sharp Asiago cheese and grilled crostini to create a truly original Floridian dip.
At Margaritaville Orlando, mouth-watering appetizers are just the beginning; the newly refurbished menu introduces soon-to-be Margaritaville favorites that incorporate the lively tastes of the Florida lifestyle. One of the featured items on the menu is the LandShark Lager Fish & Chips, Margaritaville’s dynamic version of the beloved fried dish. Hand dipped in Margaritaville’s LandShark batter, these fish & chips are served with jalapeño tartar sauce and cilantro lime coleslaw. The Fish Tacos also embrace the restaurant’s tropical paradise with colorful tastes and textures. Fresh cod is crisply fried in LandShark batter, and then topped with creamy avocado and cilantro lime coleslaw, and a house-made key lime crema adds a subtle brightness to the tacos, carrying your senses straight to the Florida Keys.
The refreshed menu continues with decadent desserts, such as Margaritaville’s Chocolate Hurricane. This massive explosion of vanilla bean ice cream is piled high with giant brownies, sliced banana, Kit Kat bars, and chopped macadamia nuts, all encompassed by two mountains of whipped cream. Swirled at your table with chocolate and caramel sauces, this delicious hurricane lives up to its name. If you prefer your dessert to recreate a peaceful stay at the beach rather than a raging hurricane, Margaritaville’s Key Lime Pie is a refreshing breeze of Key West relaxation. The sweetly tart key lime filling stays classically original in a golden graham cracker crust.
With its refreshed menu of ‘Floribbean’ dishes and sweet grand finales, Margaritaville Orlando is sure to become one of your family favorite restaurants. This place is great fun for kids of all ages. Every half hour the screens come alive with images of volcanoes erupting, the speakers rumble ominously, and the pirates on stilts get everyone into the act of arm waving and singing to ward off the evil spirits as Buffett’s landmark song “Margaritaville” plays. Sugar-shock, gigantic desserts and their award winning, free flowing margaritas are sure to keep you in pure bliss!
