“It has been both a surprise and an honor to have been voted as Orlando’s top Family Law Attorney of 2014 by my peers. It is reverent to know that in spite of having to work with other attorneys on opposite sides, we are all still able to respect each other’s efforts, dedication and passion for the profession. I am humbled by the recognition.”

Ms. Lorena Cardama was born in Mexico and her family migrated to Florida when she was 7 years old in pursuit of the American dream. From a young age, she had to learn English dedicating herself to her studies. Her hard work paid off, she graduated from St. Cloud High School at the age of 16 and received her Bachelor’s in Sociology and a Minor in Psychology from Stetson University in 2003. Ms. Cardama pursued her passion becoming the youngest law student enrolled in Barry University, at the age of 20.

While in College and in Law School, Ms. Cardama worked full time at a local law firm which taught her a foundation of law that she still uses today. She opened her own firm, “The Cardama Law Group, P.A” in 2009, where she dedicated herself primarily to Family Law. She has helped hundreds of clients in their most sensitive moments which include: divorce, paternity cases, child support and adoption.

“I understand the emotional nature and stress that can come along with worrisome family legal matters, as I have been divorced and a former single mother of twin girls,” said Ms. Cardama. These issues require having an attorney that cares to listen and listens to care. She has a unique client focused approach that provides her clients the opportunity to understand the legal process and value their legal rights; all while receiving professional and aggressive legal representation. It’s Ms. Cardama’s commitment to communication and personal attention that proves that her client’s peace of mind is truly her first priority.

Ms. Cardama is highly involved with the community; she has been a volunteer of Teen Court since 1998 and is now serving as Teen Court Judge. She dedicates her time to teach young teenagers how to value the opportunities that are being provided to them and lead them in the right direction to pursue their legal careers.

In 2013, Ms. Cardama received awards from the Supreme Court of Florida, the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar and the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association’s lapel pin in recognition of her exceptional pro bono services, as well as the prestigious Guardian of Justice Award from Community Legal Services of Mid Florida for her devotion in protecting children’s rights. In 2014 she was awarded the Osceola County Teen Court Pro Bono Award from the Community Legal Services of Mid Florida.

“I am a strong believer that family comes first, I work hard all day, but when I get home it is time for my family. It is important that my daughters feel that they are my priority. As I practice what I preach, I tell my clients that all their choices should be made by putting the best interest of the children first. I am now happily married and as a blended family (or your new “Modern Family”) it is important for my husband and me to spend as much quality time with our children by traveling and teaching them world cultures and still be able to balance our family time with our professional careers,” states Ms. Cardama.
