It’s summer time and Central Florida is buzzing with activity! Fortunately Orlando Style is here to make sure you stay up to date on all that’s happening throughout the City Beautiful. Here are all the highlights, just in case you missed it!

The biggest and the best Cinco de Mayo fiesta in Downtown Orlando took place on Wall Street Plaza on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th. The city came alive as party-goers enjoyed bull riding, drink specials, mariachi bands, mustaches, sombreros, JELL-O shots, piñatas and more at the 2018 Cinco block parties! Live music from Who Rescued Who, DJ Korndogg, The Adam Moreno Project, Audio Exchange, and DJ Ricky kept the good times rolling all weekend long.

On May 12th, Church Street District presented the 6th Annual Downtown Brew where beer-loving attendees were welcomed to Church Street for a refreshing day of suds sampling. Guests experienced a night filled with delicious food samples, live music and unlimited craft beers from beloved locations like Swamp Head Brewery, Orange Blossom Brewing Co. and more! In addition unlimited free beer sampling, admission also included a free sampler souvenir mug to always remember the festivities by!

The 2018 Florida Music Festival is a multi-day celebration of up-and-coming musicians held in beautiful Downtown Orlando. From May 10th-12th, the free festival allowed fans to experience live music, film, visual arts and the cultural community by welcoming more than 250 performers from alternative, pop, country, urban, hip hop and acoustic formats, along with hundreds of filmmakers and dozens of visual artists.

The beer was flowing on May 19th when Beer ‘Merica brought together over 100 American craft brews in celebration of American Craft Beer Week. The event took place at Gaston Edwards Park and included live music, food and craft brew samplings. Beer ‘Merica featured 100 different craft brews to sample from, all from the good ole US of A! Attendees donned their most patriotic gear all day for a chance to win their favorite beer for a year. All proceeds from Beer ‘Merica benefitted the Camaraderie Foundation.

Wedding bells are in the air and though they may be ringing from across the pond, our city is still going to celebrate! On May 19th International Drive’s The Pub Orlando hosted a Royal Wedding Brunch celebrating the wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle. All were cordially invited to enjoy the special royal brunch with festivities beginning at 6:00 am for the ceremony and televised events. The party included a special brunch menu, themed cocktails, raffles, giveaways and more.

MegaCon Orlando is the Southeast’s largest comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event! It attracts over 100,000 fans each year across four big days of MegaCon fun. From May 24th-27th, the beloved event returned to the Orange County Convention Center for a celebration of all things pop culture. From celebrity autographs to riveting celebrity panels… there was truly something for everyone! It was also a great place for attendees to buy a unique gift (or treat themselves!) with over 400,000 square feet of shopping madness.

In collaboration with Caribbean American Passport, the Original Orlando Carnival Association hosted the 31st annual Orlando Carnival at Camping World Stadium on May 27th. Carnival was a family-friendly festival filled with pageantry and a weekend of parties all in celebration the culture of the Caribbean. Downtown Orlando came alive with arts, crafts, vendors, and more as festival-goers were treated to live music featuring Machel Montano and the Monk Band, Raymond Ramnarine, Serani, Menace and others renowned Caribbean artists.
