Associates in Dermatology

Over the past 25 years, Associates in Dermatology: “Your Skin Cancer and Skincare Specialists” has offered patients access to the latest and most advanced dermatologic treatments for surgical and non-surgical procedures. It actually received Style Magazine’s #1 Reader’s Choice in its category, in our May issue.

Dr. Michael Steppie is the president and medical director of this leading dermatology practice. He is a board-certified physician who has completed residencies in internal medicine, dermatology and dermatologic surgery and is also a Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgeon.

Associates in Dermatology has an “in-house” CAP (College of American Pathologists) or CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) accredited laboratories to deliver the most accurate diagnostic/prognostic information needed to provide the best possible outcome.

It has now grown to 14 locations located throughout 6 Central Florida counties, with Hunter’s Creek and Mount Dora being the latest openings.

Associates in Dermatology’s main focus revolves around skin cancer treatment, essentially using Mohs surgery, which provides an average 99 percent cure rate for Basal Cell Carcinoma, but since 2012 it also offers a non-surgical approach which uses low-energy radiation to treat non-melanoma skin lesions and tumors.

Its experienced and dedicated board-certified dermatologists, physicians, physicians assistants, nurse practitioners and paramedical clinical estheticians offer a full range of both clinical and cosmetic services to keep patients’ skin, hair and nails healthy and attractive.

Dr. Steppie, an elite member of the prestigious Amonette Circle of the Skin Cancer Foundation, passionately and continuously works to spread the word about skin cancer risks, treatments and preventative measures, as skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, with more than 3.5 million cases diagnosed annually. He reaches out to the community while providing free skin cancer screenings, essentially in May – Melanoma Awareness Month – and promotes sun safety while sponsoring the UV Index for the last five years on local television weather forecasts.

He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Central Florida and as Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at the Florida State University College of Medicine (Orlando Regional Campus).

Dr. Steppie’s team of experienced doctors and physician assistants also perform a variety of cosmetic procedures that include injections for Botox® Juverderm® and other fillers as well as laser treatments including Candela V Beam, which treats vascular lesions including rosacea and port wine stains, as well as Dot Therapy to remarkably rejuvenate the skin. However, in its Dr. Phillips location, patients also have the opportunity to receive sclerotherapy treatments as well as permanent hair removal.

So remember, when it comes to skincare and beauty, Associates in Dermatology is always there for you and dedicated to provide you with high quality care!
