From the boardroom to the courtroom, Brent Riggle’s professional experience offers individual and business clients a unique set of skills. Mr. Riggle is passionate about helping his clients to protect and preserve their hard-earned liberty, property, and reputation. With an expanding and ever-changing regulatory environment, where often complicated administrative requirements and burdensome civil and criminal penalties pervade, Mr. Riggle stands ready as a former prosecutor and police legal advisor to zealously represent his clients.
Mr. Riggle was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. Growing up, he was an avid soccer and basketball player, and as a senior was named First Team All-City and Honorable Mention All-District. Mr. Riggle later attended Emory University, where he majored in economics, and was elected vice president of the interfraternity council.
Before law school, Mr. Riggle enjoyed a successful career working for a healthcare organization, as a real estate development consultant, and for Moody’s Analytics, where he directly assisted Fortune 500, state and federal government clients, and conducted economic research and written analysis for real-time, online, and print publications.
At Florida State University College of Law, Mr. Riggle received the Steven M. Goldstein scholarship, and was a member of the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy, Phi Delta Phi, and the Health Law Society, as a founding officer. Mr. Riggle also gained significant experience as a law clerk at a leading medical malpractice and personal injury firm.
After law school, Mr. Riggle distinguished himself as a dedicated public servant. As an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor with the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution, Legal Advisor with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and Assistant State Attorney in the Ninth, Fourth, and Twelfth Judicial Circuits, Mr. Riggle developed a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the processes and strategies employed by law enforcement and prosecutors regarding criminal investigations and prosecutions, and civil forfeitures.
Mr. Riggle practiced extensively in the circuit courts of Lake, Orange, Polk, Seminole, Volusia, Sarasota, Bradenton and Duval counties, handling complex cases including: racketeering, money laundering, securities fraud, tax evasion, and gambling. Mr. Riggle helped lead the statewide Florida Illegal Gaming Task Force, where he routinely advised local, state and federal authorities on state and federal gaming laws. Mr. Riggle has successfully handled dozens of jury and bench trials, ranging from lengthy white collar cases, to trials involving violent crimes, theft crimes, and vice crimes.
Mr. Riggle also gained valuable experience working in the Florida Senate and Florida House of Representatives as a Legislative Aide, where he learned the inner workings of state government, assisted in drafting proposed legislation and constitutional amendments, and routinely spoke before legislative committees.
Following public service, Mr. Riggle was excited to join a cutting-edge, boutique law firm, The Entrepreneur Law Center, which has been the recipient of numerous awards, including 2015’s Most Outstanding Independent Boutique Law Firm in the U.S. from the Corporate LiveWire Awards, and 2014’s Business Planning Law Firm of the Year from ACQ’s Law Awards. Working with the firm’s founder, Kenneth Hamner, Brent proudly represents numerous individuals and businesses, concentrating his practice in business law, and civil and criminal litigation, with specialty areas in gaming and white collar defense.
