Family Complex Litigation and Collaborative Group

Alessandra Manes is an attorney with a passion for family law. She practices at Family Complex Litigation and Collaborative Group (FCLC Group) with attorney John Foster. Since starting with FCLC Group in 2016, Alessandra has been involved in the drafting of multiple settlement agreements including marital settlement agreements and parenting plans negotiated through the mediation and collaborative processes, as well as pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

Alessandra’s responsibilities focus on more than just divorce cases. She is involved in a variety of domestic violence cases which often times are pending simultaneously with divorces and paternity cases. “I think what separates us from other firms is that we do not view all divorce cases, paternity cases or domestic violence cases as the same,” says Alessandra. “We really cater our strategy and method for resolution in accordance with the specific facts and details of each case. We are comfortable handling matters in all the different forms from high-conflict complex litigation to collaborative and amicable resolutions.”

Alessandra began her professional career working at a firm that practiced exclusively in the area of immigration law. With FCLC Group, Alessandra continues to practice immigration law while simultaneously practicing in the area she is most passionate about, family law.

Alessandra is an active member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar Association and is heavily involved in multiple committees including Children’s Issues, Equitable Distribution, Domestic Violence and the Ad Hoc Parentage committee.

Alessandra was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2015 and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida in 2016. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) and OCBA Young Lawyers Section. In 2017, Alessandra completed the Collaborative Law training program at the Barry University School of Law.

Alessandra received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and later earned her Juris Doctorate from the Barry University School of Law. While attending law school, Alessandra served as Justice of the professional law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, which she continues to support by participating in panels and events for current members as their alumni advisor. She was a Governor of the Young Lawyers Division, Law Student Division, and President of Intramural Sports Club. In her final year of law school, Alessandra was recognized by the Women Lawyers Association as a female leader on campus for her compelling leadership and outstanding balance of serving justice in the community while maintaining involvement.

Alessandra is an active member of the Central Florida Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce. “My parents run a Brazilian newspaper, and I stay heavily connected with the Brazilian community of Central Florida,” says Alessandra. As a native of Brazil, she is fluent in Portuguese.

When Alessandra is not vigorously advocating for her clients, she is spending most of her time with her four-legged furry child, Rogue, a red nose pit bull. “I’m also a die-hard Denver Broncos fan and can be spotted at any Florida team’s stadium when they are up against my Broncos.”
